Gay bishop's book sure to stir new round of controversy

So writes Michael Paulson of The Boston Globe.

The book by Gene Robinson, the Episcopal bishop of New Hampshire, contains "emphatic expressions of disappointment in the leadership of his Anglican Church." Many Anglican primates -- and many in the pews -- have said it was morally and scripturally wrong for the Episcopal Church to consecrate Robinson.

"One of the things I think I've learned in the last five years is that, as much as I wanted to be known as the good bishop, and not the gay bishop, there's no escaping," Robinson told Paulson. "I would love just to be a simple country bishop, but that just doesn't seem to be in the cards."

In June, the bishop plans to enter into a civil union with his longtime companion.

His book, "In the Eye of the Storm," is due out in April. Purchase In the Eye of the Storm: Swept to the Center by God.
