Since My Last Confession: A Gay Catholic Memoir

Since My Last Confession: A Gay Catholic Memoir

by Scott Pomfret

" Pomfret, who serves as a lector at St. Anthony Shrine, also includes in the memoir “tongue-in-cheek” (but very, very helpful) sidebars that teach you some lesser known Catholic facts: like 10 ways to detect a gay Catholic, how to get excommunicated from the comfort of your living room in three easy steps, how to come out to hardcore, bead-counting Catholics, the 10 commandments of reading gay porn, and who the holiest of them all is. (O’Malley, unsurprisingly, is not.)
Any book that comes complete with not only an interactive Web site but also a complete list of characters (with bios, photos and links to further online information where possible) may daunt some readers. Here, though, while Pomfret’s book is enhanced by these web features, what makes his memoir achingly funny and very readable is the story itself, sans bells and whistles." Full review @ innewsweekly
